Dr Michael obtained a PhD in Economics. He has an Enhanced DBS check and over 20 years of experience in teaching Economics, Business, Statistics, and Maths online, having helped over 500 students. He was an examiner of public examination in economics.
The level of the students he has helped includes GCSE, IB, A-Level, undergraduate and postgraduate. He has taught students from the ages of 14 up to adult learners. He is familiar with the GCSE and A-Level syllabus for the following exam boards: Edexcel, AQA, OCR, OCR MEI, WJEC, and CIE.

Dr Michael believes with enough time and through hard work any grade is achievable. He tries to make his lessons engaging and to encourage students to think during lessons. His approach to teaching is to help students answer questions themselves, by giving suggestions, instead of telling them the answer.
Based on a student's needs, Dr Michael tries to develop their confidence, problem-solving skills, and exam technique. He first covers the areas the student is finding difficult at school, he then goes through past paper questions to identify other areas the student needs to improve on. Dr Michael teaches important exam techniques to help improve a student`s grade, such as methods for preventing mistakes, improving their timing when answering questions, and things they can do if they are unsure about a question.
Dr Michael is currently a Senior Lecturer in Data Science at the University of Roehampton. He was a Honorary Research Fellow of the Department of Economics at the Kingston University. He was also an Associate Professor of Finance at the Richmond American University London and Associate Lecturer of Economics and Statistics at the Open University. Dr Michael specializes in applied econometrics, quantitative finance and labour economics. He published books in economics and statistics, and academic articles in international journal. He was invited by the International University of Applied Sciences to develop a series of economics distance learning modules.
Previously, Dr Michael was the Founding Department Head of Social Sciences and Programme Director of Economics at the Hong Kong Metropolitan University, where he was also the Deputy Director of Public and Social Policy Research Centre. Dr Michael was also a Visiting Fellow of Institute of Adult Learning in Singapore where he was a core researcher of two survey studies on skills utilisation.
